The Odotobri Rural Bank Limited at Jacobu in the Amansie Central District of Ashanti Region has inaugurated the Agric Nzema branch in Kumasi. This brings to eight the number of branches currently being operated by the Bank.
The branches include Jacobu, Obuasi, Bekwai, Asawase, Maakro, Krofrom and Roman Hill -- all in the Ashanti Region.
The branch opening became necessary after a study conducted by the Marketing Department of the Bank indicated that there were a quite considerable number of customers, particularly the ones who fall under the Bank’s daily ‘susu’ product, and so there was a need to get closer to them to make business more flexible.
The Bank’s mission is to be the leading micro-finance institution poised to transform and improve the lives and business of its customers, thereby reducing poverty through motivated and competent human resource, customer-driven products and the use of modern technology.
The Bank has put together a number of benefit packages which include ordinary loans, micro finance loans, overdrafts, salary advances to teachers and other salaried workers, funeral loans and free business advisory services for clients -- as well as scholarships for needy but brilliant shareholders’ children at the senior high school and tertiary institutions. The Bank also provides financial materials for assistance to communities in its operational territories to facilitate the execution of community development projects.
Odotobri Rural Bank for a decade now has been rated as one of the leading rural banks in the country. The Bank has been able to maintain its status as a member of the prestigious Ghana Club 100 for the past five years running.
The performance of the Bank has been very encouraging, as it has consistently been registering impressive profits, deposit mobilisation and increased share capital -- which has helped the Bank to gain public confidence.
